American Legion Riders Veteran Support Services - Vets Helping Vets

   

 

   American Legion Riders Veteran Support Services Web site is an idea that was brought up by the American Legion Riders Director Gerald (JW) Winningham of American Legion Post 13 in Valdosta Georgia on November 14th,  2009. Vets Helping Vets is the original Motto thought up by Bill (Webber) MacLaughlin and Karl Zeigler. Support Services

   We will be requesting such donated items as, tooth paste, shaving cream, liquid soap, for patient hygiene and comforter blankets. 

    Also the donation of Electronic Wii game players that we have been told are being used for rehabilitation of handicap patients.

   Our annual Poppa Joe's Books for Vets Run is under this area.

Blue Star Banner Program

 The Blue Star Banner program by The American Legion Riders of Valdosta Ga., Post 13.

    We strive to revive the tradition of the Blue Star Banners as well as showing the families Americans do care about our soldiers . Our mission is to honor both the parents and soldiers using motorcycles and The American Legion.

Assistance Programs

  This section is for Veterans that  need possible handicap assistance. Such things  as handicap ramps, doors  inside and out, changes to their  homes that need to make access easier.   

   Minor repairs of their residence and yard up keep.

   The above will be done by donations of services and materials by contributors.

Homeless Veteran Services

   We will provide links to local shelters, Food banks, Salvation Army for cloths.
